Access to the Building

The safety and security of your children is our top priority and one of the most useful tools we utilize to help protect your children is our security camera.  All exterior doors remain locked throughout the day and the only way to gain access into the building is by ringing the buzzer on our security camera and speaking to our office staff in order to identify yourself.  This procedure remains in place at all times including before and after the school day. If you are waiting to pick up your child after school, we ask that you do not enter the building until the bell rings unless you were granted an exception from the office. Please do not enter the building as someone else is exiting, every visitor must be given permission to enter by the office staff.  There are a variety of sensitive circumstances that require our staff to know who is in the building.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Something is very wacky at Washington! Every Friday in 3rd quarter the staff will be dressed up as a theme that is a surprise to students. Students will have the chance to guess the theme to win some prizes, and our older students get to vote for the best dressed staff member. On Monday mornings, student winners will be called down to the office to claim their prize!!

Out of Attendance and Open Enrollment

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR...

In order to promote a healthy environment at school for your children, we ask that you be particularly alert to the beginning signs of illness in your child. Keeping them home during an illness until they are completely well will help prevent spread of illness to others in the school. The following are some symptoms to watch for:

  • Thick mucus from the nose
  • Persistent, productive cough or persistent sneezing
  • Fever of 100.0 or higher
  • Toothache or tenderness
  • Nausea or vomitting or diarrhea
  • Swelling of jaw
  • Excessive Drowsiness
  • Red eyes or discharge from eyes or ears, earache
  • Sore throat
  • Persistent abdominal discomfort
  • Any rash that is not normal

If your child has any of these symptoms at school, you may be contacted. You will be expected to make arrangements to pick your child up from school as soon as possible. An emergency telephone number where parents can be reached either at home or work must be on file at the school. Please update any number changes or corrections via the parent portal. Children may not return to school within 24 hours of a fever. To assist us in providing the best possible care for your child at school, please keep us informed of any changes in your child’s healthstatus-including medication changes, allergies, etc., by contact our school health office: Marni Noldin via email marni.noldin@oshkosh.k12.wi.us.
